Herzlich Willkommen, Germanophiles!
I’m Anika and here to share with you some facts or stories about Germany that you might not know. More about me and my story here.
Many hours and dollars go into researching and writing every month. The website and its content are free for everybody, it's basically free of any advertising, and I would like to keep it this way. A donation would help me keep going and recover the costs that maintaining a website entails. Thank you and danke!

Hello Anika. My granddaughter Lily has been learning the German language since the 5th Grade and she is now in 10th. I am of German heritage, so I’m quite happy that she has this opportunity to study German. My grandmother was born in Graz, Austria and my great-grandparents were born in Germany. Lily also has German heritage from her father’s side. Today (unfortunately) none of us speak German.
How do I get the link for the Advent calendar?
Thank you for your help.
Hi Barbara, thank you for your comment. You should be able to access the advent calendar from the blog post that you commented on. Just click on the doors (from the current day and the ones past) and the content should open. If this doesn’t work, you can also try this link and should take you to the advent calendar. https://calendar.myadvent.net/?id=3dca1d573ef97163854caaa95b458bd6
Let me know if you have any problems accessing it.
