St. Patrick’s Day is on March 17. It is an Irish holiday that is celebrated in Great Britain, but also in many cities in the U.S.
St. Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland responsible for converting the Irish to Christianity. The three leafed clover or shamrock stands for the holy trinity.
In the last couple of years, St. Patrick’s Day has gained traction in Germany (and other countries), especially in cities with large Irish communities and social clubs.
Berlin and Munich, for example, have St. Patrick’s Day parades and events.
Irish Pubs which you can find in any larger city host special events with Irish music and dance, and Guinness of course.
